Alana Estate Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2020
- Green apple
- Lime peel
- Jasmine
- Lengthy finish
"Fresh and lively, the wine shows green apple, rockmelon, lime peel and jasmine notes on the nose. It's equally attractive on the palate, displaying lovely vibrancy together with fine texture and refreshing acidity, leading to a lengthy tasty finish. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2020.
Fruit harvested from a vineyard on the Dry River Flats south of Martinborough, pressed to tank and cold settled for two days. Fermentation took place at 14ºC for 21 days in stainless steel tanks to preserve the aromatics of the variety. The wine was aged in tank on its gross lees with weekly stirring for 4 months before protein stabilisation and filtration. The wine was bottled in September 2020.
Established in 1993, Alana Estate is a boutique winery nestled in the heart of the Martinborough township. Alana ffocusses on producing small batches of artisanal wine with a minimum of intervention in the wine making process.
Food Paring: Delicious with a light feta salad.
