Bishops Leap Marlborough Chardonnay 2018

Bishops Leap Marlborough Chardonnay 2018

  • Peach
  • Nectarine
  • Toasted hazelnut
  • Smooth, lingering finish

"Nicely fruited and gently fragrant, the wine shows apricot, lemon peel and hazelnut aromas on the nose, leading to a juicy palate that’s rounded and smooth. An attractive medium-bodied Chardonnay with a refreshing mouthfeel" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2020

Juicy aromas of peach, nectarine and toasty oak. A creamy texture with delicious layered flavours of ripe stone fruit, vanilla and a hint of toasted hazelnut. Lovely soft acidity, well integrated oak spice and a smooth, lingering finish.

Fruit for this Bishops Leap Chardonnay is from a selection of immaculately tended vineyards throughout Marlborough.  Partial fermentation in oak and malolactic fermentation was carried out to enhance the flavours and fill the palate.   After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 10 months in French Oak and lightly fined.

This wine will cellar well for the next few years but is also perfect for drinking immediately.

Food Pairing: Try with seafood chowder and crusty bread.
