Castaño Molino Loco Tinto 2018 (Spain)
- Blackberry & blueberry
- Spicy oak
- Floral notes
- Spiced cherry
"Youthfully charming and inviting, the bouquet shows black/blueberry, spiced cherry, floral and spicy oak characters. The palate displays lovely fruit intensity and supple mouthfeel, firmly structured by chalky tannins. A gorgeous food partner with elegant complexity and a lengthy sturdy finish. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2019
This blend shows an intense red colour with violet shines. It has appealing expressive notes of fresh red fruit (blackberry, plum). On the palate, it is soft and easy drinking fruit forward, pleasantly fresh and well balanced.
This wine is based in Yecla, Spain, at a vineyard with over 30 years of age. The blend consists of 90% Monastrell, 10% Syrah. It underwent short pruning and planted in both trellises vines. The harvest occurred in the second week of October, 2018, with fermentation for 7-8 days at a temperature of 24-26 degrees. The malolactic fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks.
This wine is suitable for Vegans.
Food Pairing: A brilliant partner to Spanish lamb with sherry, honey & peppers or a Roast leg of lamb with basil & mint pesto.
