Castello di Meleto Chianti Classico DOCG 2019 (Italy)

Castello di Meleto Chianti Classico DOCG 2019 (Italy)

  • Slavonian oak
  • Cherry & floral
  • Medium bodied
  • Firm tannins

"Super clean and focused berry and cherry character here. Forest-fruit style. Medium-bodied with good intensity of clean fruit and firm tannins that are already latching on to the fruit. Nicely done, but needs a year or so. Best after 2022" James Suckling, Aug 2021

Intense ruby red. Strong notes of cherry with floral accents. On the palate, full fruit and pleasant freshness. Tannins are supported by a lovely freshness and full fruit. Tannins are felt but not aggressive.

After spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in steel there is a period of maceration on the skins. The malolactic fermentation that follows takes place in cement tanks. The wine then ages in 54 hl barrels of Slavonian oak

Food Pairing: Perfect with traditional Tuscan dishes such as ribollita and papa al pomodoro. Pairs well with grilled white and red meats.
