Castillo De Molina Reserva Chardonnay 2017 (Chile)
- French & American oak
- Mandarin & apple
- Hazlenuts
- Vibrant acidity
"Beautifully ripe and fragrant, the bouquet shows ripe apricot, rockmelon, vanilla bean and roasted hazelnut characters, leading to a succulent palate that’s weighty and creamy. It’s flavoursome and generous with refreshing acidity, making it delightfully drinkable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2019
Intense, bright yellow in colour. An elegant wine, with an intense and complex combination of mineral aromas; as well as those of fruits such as mandarin, peach, apricot, apple and floral notes, plus gentle hints of hazelnuts stemming from barrel aging. On the palate, the wine has excellent ample body, abundant fruit and freshness. It is creamy, buttery and balanced, with very good vibrant acidity, with the fruit coming through once again. High lighting once again fruity notes and hints of vanilla. The finish is intense, complex, and persistent.
Viña San Pedro has more than 2 500 hectares of planted vineyards located in areas of Maipo, Totihue, Chépica, Molina and Pencahue in the central valley of Chile. Notably including the Fundo de Molina in the Valley of Lontué, because it has 1 200 ha planted on the 35th parallel south latitude, being the largest continuous vineyard in Chile.
Food Pairing: Ideal for accompanying fatty fish like Pacific salmon and tuna, pasta with cream-based sauces, and goat cheese. Best served between 10 and 12°C allowing you to unwind and enjoy, not colder.
