Cellar Note Hawke's Bay Merlot 2021

Cellar Note Hawke's Bay Merlot 2021

"It's brightly fruited and nicely lifted on the nose with dark plum, pomegranate, dried herb and floral aromas. The palate delivers supple texture and juicy fruit flavours, well framed by fine grainy tannins, finishing dry and sturdy. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2023

Savoury notes of cedar and olive brine with a hint of spice, the palate is fruit forward with flavours of ripe plum and black cherry. Rich and silky with a chocolate smooth structure, this wine has a long lasting, toasty finish.

Fruit for this wine was sourced from the Hawkes Bay region, the fruit was machine harvested before being transported swiftly to the winery. Vegetarian friendly, this Merlot fermented in both stainless steel tanks and oaked barrels, maturing in 60% seasoned French oak barriques.

Food Pairing: The toasty flavours of this wine pair beautifully with a hot grilled fillet steak, winter root vegetables, and a red wine sauce.
