Concha Y Toro Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (Chile)
Deep and intense ruby red colour in the glass. The expression of cassis in this wine perfectly represents the Valle Central and its richness in fruit such as cherries and plums. The barrel ageing length thanks to the toast and coffee notes. Medium bodied with silky tannins and long, ripe fruit and berry aftertaste, with impressive balance of fruit and polished tannins.
Grown in largely aluvial soils in the Central Valley. Then the wine was aged in American oak barrels.
Over a century has passed since Don Melchor, the winery's founder, created a legend. When he discovered his finest Concha y Toro wines were missing, he spread the word amongst the local villagers that the devil lived in his cellar. From that day, the wine has been known as Casillero del Diablo, the devil's cellar. And the wine thieves remain deterred.
Food Pairing: Red meats, well-seasoned dishes, and aged cheeses such as Gruyere or blue.
