Easthope Family Winegrowers Two Terraces Vineyard Hawke's Bay Chenin Blanc 2018
Characters of grapefruit, honeysuckle, acacia and a hint of rose spring to mind. The palate possesses a yeasty complexity, due to ageing in old barrels on lees, and racy acidity.
Grown by Ian and Linda Quinn off their Two Terraces Vineyard located in Maraekakaho, Hawke’s Bay. Being the first vintage from these vines it was a minuscule crop of intensely flavoured grapes.
Chenin Blanc in the Loire Valley of France produces some of the world’s longest-lived white wines. Beginning with focused fruit, florals and laser-like acidity it matures into richly textured and complex wine that retains its fresh acidity into old age.
Hand picked, whole bunch pressed, barrel fermented in used French oak barriques, aged on yeast lees for six months, bottled without fining and a light filtration.
