A complex Marlborough Merlot bursting with dark berry fruit and mixed spice with a perfectly balanced elegant structure. Harvested from a number of naturally low cropping vineyards in Marlborough’s Rapaura sub region, this merlot is intensely concentrated with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, dark plum and black cherries and a hint of toasted oak to finish. Drinking beautifully from the outset, this wine will mature into a fuller more complex wine that can be enjoyed for the next seven years or beyond.
The young wine was kept in contact with skins and tasted daily until the right extraction and balance was achieved then gently pressed.
Food Pairing: Beautiful with Chinese style crispy duck pancakes.
