Fire Road Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Fire Road Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2021

  • Dry style
  • Gooseberry
  • Tropical fruits
  • Zesty finish

Intense aromas of gooseberry and citrus layered with tropical fruits. Vibrant and well balanced,  the palate shows typical Marlborough Sauvignon flavours including passionfruit, nectarine with a lingering zesty finish.  A succulent wine drinking beautifully now or up to two years from vintage date.

Fruit for this wine was selected from various vineyards across Marlborough’s maritime and cool climate unique sub regions, including the Wairau Valley.  The grapes were harvested when they reached optimum ripeness.

Marlborough’s worst ever fire, Boxing Day 2000, burnt 6,000 ha, for over three days, killed thousands of stock and threatened the wine town of Blenheim, as well as a number of vineyards and wineries. Disaster was avoided by the brave residents, of what is now known as Fireroad, who battled the blaze, by using buckets and hand held hoses and were eventually assisted by a fortunate wind shift.

Food Pairing: A perfect match with Linguine and garlic butter prawns.
