Wonderfully ripe and complex, the wine has aromas of grilled peach, vanilla and hazelnut. The palate offers juicy acidity, beautiful texture and weight, with a creamy mouthfeel and a delicious lingering finish.
The grapes for this wine were harvested from the limestone-rich Havelock North hills. It was barrel fermented, with a small portion (approx. 15%) going into new American oak barriques, the rest into a mix of seasoned American and French oak. All barrels went through a secondary malolactic fermentation, and the wine stayed on lees in barrel for just under 10 months.
