"Offering spicy/savoury nuances with restrained fruit notes, the complex bouquet shows sweet cherry, game, dried herb and dark mushroom aromas. Employing sensitive farming practices to produce the best grapes whilst, drawing on his French training, Belsham has crafted a wine with flavours of cherry, dark berry and spice that have delicious depth. The youthful style is a delight to drink.
Like great artists, winemakers need inspiration. For John Belsham, that muse is Pinot Noir; a varietal that takes the most experienced hand to draw out its true beauty.
The FOX by John Belsham wines are a collection of vegan, sustainably produced wines with one tree planted for every case sold.
Fox is named after the explorer William Fox who named a tributary island in Marlborough, Foxes Island and in the Southern Alps, a glacier, called Fox Glacier. Sarah Featon painted the botanicals that grace the label in the late 19th century; compiling the most extensive documentation of native NZ flora.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with vegetarian, mushroom, fish and fowl dishes, dark chocolate too! I deal serving temperature 18℃.
