Haha Hawke's Bay Merlot 2018

Haha Hawke's Bay Merlot 2018

"The wine is beautifully fruited and fragrant on the nose showing dark plum, sweet cherry, mixed spice and toasted almond characters, leading to an elegantly weighted palate that is plump and silky. It is wonderfully balanced and smooth with a lingering tasty finish. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2019

Vibrant rich purple colour in the glass. Plum, wild berry, violets and a hint of vanilla. Juicy and rich, this wine displays plums and violets, combined with a touch of vanilla. This is supported by a fine tannin structure and a dry, well-balanced finish.

The grapes for this wine are picked from elevated terraces from selected vineyards in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. The soils are ancient river beds with free draining stony soils and silty clay loams.

This vintage saw a warm and dry summer provided stunning flavours and structure.

Food Pairing: This wine is perfect with Spanish tapas and meaty Italian dishes.
