Our 2025 Chardonnay unfolds in a luminous golden hue, offering a refined and layered aromatic profile. On the palate, a creamy texture meets vibrant refreshing acidity, revealing flavours of stone fruit and a touch of citrus zest over a refined minerality. The wine finishes long and elegantly, with a lingering trace of buttery charm.

We source grapes from several sites around the Nelson region encompassing the Waimea Plains with its rich alluvial soils to the Moutere Hills and their intense clay loams. Nelson’s cool maritime climate allows us to produce distinctive wines from the various sub-regions.

The home-block vineyard, located near the iconic Upper Moutere Village was first planted in 1973 and contains a number of varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Montepulciano and the oldest commercial Riesling vines in the South Island. Kahurangi Estate was established in 1998 and continues to be a leading brand in the quality focused Nelson wine scene.
