Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2023
- Dry style
- Tropical fruit
- Bright citrus
- Juicy sweetness
Pale yellow with a green edge. Lifted aromatics of tropical fruits with bright citrus highlights. The aromatic profile follows through on to the palate with mouth-filling mid-palate concentration of flavour. The palate lingers with minerality and juicy tropical fruit sweetness.
The maritime climate was predominated by warm, north-westerly winds and cool southerly blasts through 2023. This, alongside high sunshine hours, contributed to a veritable fruit salad of varietal characters.
The grapes were machine harvested and destemmed, before being crushed to press. A mixture of up to three hours skin contact, and juice drained immediate to tank, produced wine with a juicy acidity. A mixture of yeast was utilised through the fermentation process to enhance passionfruit, pink grapefruit citrus characters along with redcurrant and boxwood.
Kim Crawford wines started out in a small Auckland cottage in New Zealand. Since its launch in 1996, the label has gained critical acclaim around the globe. We do things unconventionally, take risks, start things, and welcome different.
