Bright ruby red in colour, this Cabernet Merlot has elegant aromas of black fruit with notes of new leather. The palate is dark and brooding with characters of of dark berry fruits and ripe plums with a toasty oak note lingering on the finish. Drinking beautifully now this wine can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring will mature over the next 5 years or beyond.
The free draining gravel type soil in the Hawke’s Bay, combined with the climate are the perfect mix for the growth of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The fruit was carefully monitored during ripening and harvested in the cool evening at maximum flavour maturing and physiological ripeness.
