La Strada Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014
A bright and pure Pinot with ripe fruit density and savoury undertones. Complex and harmonious with a structural complexity.
From the very exciting 2014 vintage comes this appealing yet complex Pinot Noir. A blend of the four vineyards, it expresses two sub-regions of Marlborough (the clay soiled Brancott Valley plus the alluvial gravel and silt of the Wairau Valley). The nose offers a lovely purity of red/blue fruit (black cherries, blueberries and ripe wild strawberries) and is complimented by subtle integrated oak, graphite minerality an intriguing savoury spice. The palate shows generosity, balance and structure with ripe fruit concentration, layered tannins and focusing acidity.
