Leveret Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2021
- Dry style
- Barrel-fermented
- Lime peel

"Bright and fresh with green apple, lime zest, fig and fresh herb notes on the nose, it's juicy and lively in the mouth with vibrant fruit flavours backed by crisp acidity. Flavoursome and immediately appealing" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2021
"Classic bouquet loaded with aromas of fresh herbs and apple, tropical fruits and stony gravel soil suggestions. Vibrant, youthful and very enticing. Crisp, refreshing, salivating and dry on the palate with a slippery mid-palate texture, flavours of lemon and peach, tropical fruits and fresh green herb layers. Well made, fresh, crunchy and ready to drink from day of purchase and through 2024" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2021
White peach, crushed herbs, and lime peel aromatics. A portion of this wine was barrel fermented giving added weight and complexity. An elegant and expressive wine. This wine is drinking well now but can be cellared for up to 3 years.
The grapes for this wine were harvested in the winemakers Kuranui vineyard in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough. The juice was transported by road tanker to our Katikati winery where a portion was fermented in stainless steel tanks at around 14°C using predominantly X5 & Delta yeast strains. Another portion was fermented in older barrels which were stirred regularly to allow for lees contact. Following fermentation the wine was blended, protein stabilized, cold stabilized, filtered and fined.
Food Pairing: Shellfish and fish or summer salads, or drink with roast pork and apple sauce.
