M by Montana Gisborne Chardonnay 2022

M by Montana Gisborne Chardonnay 2022

  • Toasty oak
  • Rockmelon
  • Buttery
  • Creamy

This is a full bodied, buttery and rich style of Chardonnay, classic of the Gisborne region. This wine displays fruit driven aromas of citrus and rockmelon, a textural palate balanced with buttery notes, and rounded off with creamy texture and toasty oak characteristics.

Sourced from Patutahi and Manutuke Gisborne Sub Regions to produce a wine  combines the best attributes of both. Patutahi, the warmer inland site of clay and  silt soils produce wines with good texture and body, and then in combination with  the more coastal Manutuke, with it’s well-drained sandy soils that produce finely textured aromatic wines.

What underlies Gisborne Chardonnay is the richness, ripeness and depth of fruit  from the region. This is largely a result of the warm climate and cool coastal  breezes which holds the title of the world’s “first to see the sun” every day.

After a warmer and wetter summer than usual, careful decisions were made  on picking and care during the harvest period. This proved crucial in ensuring  the fruit was picked in in the best possible condition, allowing the grapes to showcase what the region is best renowned for.

Food Pairing: This M by Montana Chardonnay is a great food wine and is ideally matched to seafood, poultry and lighter game dishes particularly where an element of creaminess is included in the dish.
