The wine is beautifully floral, with lemon, lime and some nougat on the nose. This transfers to a weighty, full and rich palate with a persistent finish.

Misty Cove’s Landmark Albariño is deeply influenced by old world winemaking techniques. Lovingly handcrafted with small batch qualities, we crafted this wine to reflect the “Landmark” – the attributes and characteristics of the oldest planted New Zealand Albariño vineyard from grower Doug Bell.

Produced from vines grown dryland on fertile loam over heavy clay soils, the Landmark Albariño was fermented in 60% stainless steel and 40% Acacia of which 67% was new and 33% 2-year-old puncheons. Yeast selection used enhances mouth feel, floral and varietal characters.

Post ferment the wine was held on lees for 4 months to further enhance palate richness and was left with some residual sugar to balance the grapes naturally high acidity.
