Mon Cheval Mon Petit Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2020
This 2020 wine is cherry coloured with aromatics of strawberry, red cherry and cigar box. The palate shows additional raspberry and plenty of spice and pepperyness resulting from the whole bunches. With light velvety tannins, the wine finishes soft and succulent. Can be served at room temperature, or lightly chilled.
In a departure from the style of Mon Cheval’s traditionally fermented Pinot Noirs, the Mon Petit is produced using the traditional technique of Carbonic Maceration, sometimes referred to as whole grape fermentation, to produce a lower acid and tannin wine that is accessible at a young age.
