Morton Estate Black Label Gisborne Chardonnay 2017

Morton Estate Black Label Gisborne Chardonnay 2017

"It is beautifully fruited and inviting on the nose showing apricot, rockmelon, vanilla and roasted hazelnut characters. The palate is succulent and supple, delivering bright fruit flavours together with creamy texture and well-balanced acidity, finishing persistent and silky. A well-proportioned cCardonnay offering generosity as well as elegance. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2019

This is a great follow up to the hugely successful 2016 Chardonnay.  A gorgeous complex offering that shows rockmelon, grapefruit, roasted cashew and vanilla characters. The palate delivers excellent weight and concentration, while remaining elegant and refined. It is richly flavoursome with deep long finish.

Morton Estate is probably best known for its lovely rich Chardonnay and its Cape Dutch-style building on the main highway between Katikati and Tauranga that has acted as there cellar door since 1978. Morton Estates vineyards are concentrated in Hawke's Bay on the East Coast of the North Island, and in Marlborough on the northern tip of the South Island. They have a long history of making great value, great tasting wines.
