Mount Riley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020
- French oak
- Ripe cherry & plum
- Toasted nut & clove
- Silky tannins
"Sweetly ripe and inviting, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, ripe cherry, floral, toasted nut and clove notes, leading to a brightly expressed palate offering pristine fruit flavours combined with supple texture and silky tannins, making it delectably appealing and immediately drinkable. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2021
Deep-red with garnet and ruby hues. Ripe cherry and plum characters are supported by hints of savoury spice and dried herb. Approachable with soft tannins and intense fruit flavour. Silky texture and great length.
Dry Weather conditions through Pinot Noir flowering with long settled periods, resulting in good ripeness and fruit intensity. Our 2020 Pinot Noir is a blend sourced from three of our Marlborough vineyards situated in the Southern Valleys sub-region. Diversity of clone allowed us to make a complex and complete wine with vibrant, pure fruit character and depth of flavour. Grapes were cold soaked, fermented in small parcels and aged for seven months in French oak barriques.
Food Pairing: Drinking well now and up to 2025. Great as an aperitif or with savoury tomato or mushroom based dishes, salmon, red meat or pasta.
