Mystery Gisborne Merlot 2018

Mystery Gisborne Merlot 2018

  • Blackberry
  • Sage & thyme
  • Integrated tannins
  • Long finish

"Sweetly ripe and nicely fragrant, showing dark plum, raspberry, thyme, olive and warm spice aromas, leading to a succulent palate that's gentle and smooth. Friendly and approachable with ripe fruit flavours and a lingering mellow finish" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2021

Rich ruby colour, with hints of blackberry, cherry, sage and thyme. Hinting at dark fruit and black pepper with tannins nicely integrated. The palate is generous and full of elegant fruit intensity leading to a finish that is long and inviting.

The grapes are grown in Gisborne, the first city in the world to see the sun rise each day. With high, hot sunshine hours, fertile clay loam soils, Gisborne is famous for producing exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Viognier and Merlot.

Food Pairing: Brilliant with fish, seafood, poultry and pork.
