Mystery Hawke's Bay Syrah 2018

Mystery Hawke's Bay Syrah 2018

Rich flavours of plum and blackberry, with a hint of peppery spice. A palate of sweet, spiced fruit and ripe tannins are supported by juicy acidity for a lengthy finish.

The vines for this Mystery Syrah was grown in the Bridge Pa Triangle sub-region of Hawke’s Bay where warm temperatures, coupled with free draining red metal gravels, provide the ideal conditions for growing Syrah. After harvest at optimum ripeness grapes were destemmed and then fermented in closed top stailess stell tanks, with gentle maceration via rummage and pump overs to extract colour and tannins. Inoculated with cultivated yeatss to promote fruit aromatics. This Mystery Syrah is also co-inoculated for maloactic fermentation during primary stages to further enhance its fruit forwardness. A small portion of oak was emplyed in this Mystery wine to highlight aromatics and provide extra richness to the palate. Finally winemakers at this Mystery winery chose to bottle early to capture the wine's vibrancy.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with an aged cheddar, lamb roast or barbequed steak
