Mystery Marlborough Chardonnay 2021 (01)

Mystery Marlborough Chardonnay 2021 (01)

  • French oak
  • Stone fruit
  • Butterscotch
  • Smooth & creamy

"It's delightfully fruited and immediately appealing with ripe apricot, cedary oak and vanilla characters with a hint of butterscotch. It's succulent and supple in the mouth, delivering excellent weight and creamy texture, finishing long and flavoursome. Generously styled and delectably appealing. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2023

A classic and complex Marlborough Chardonnay showing layers of stone fruit interlaced with subtle oak flavours and a smooth, creamy finish.

The grapes for this wine are sourced primarily from the Awatere Valley in Marlborough. The vines were cropped low to ensure ripeness and palate richness. The grapes were then whole-cluster pressed and the high-solids juice taken straight to French barriques for fermentation with indigenous yeast. After seven months in oak, we felt the balance was correct and took the wine from barrel.
