Mystery Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020 (Export Wine) (02)

Mystery Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020 (Export Wine) (02)

  • French oak
  • Ripe wild berry
  • Toasted coffee
  • Silky structure

Ruby core with a thin garnet rim. Aromatic and concentrated displaying lifted aromas of ripe wild berry fruit and toasty oak. A full bodied style with flavours of black cherry and a subtle charred oak character. The palate is rich and round, with a silky structure and toasted coffee notes on the lingering finish. Drinking beautifully now and will continue to reward for at least three years from vintage date, when it will become rounder on the palate and develop further complexity.

Fruit was carefully selected from two different vineyards in the Omaka Valley, located within Marlborough’s Southern Valleys sub-region. Each parcel was chosen to add complexity and fullness as well as impart balance and offer particular characteristics to the final wine.

The fermentation took place in new and seasoned French oak barrels. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation. After 11 months barrel aging the wine was blended and carefully prepared for bottling.

Food Pairing: An ideal match with pan seared venison loin with seasonal roasted vegetables.
