Mystery Marlborough Pinot Noir 2023 (01)

Black Market Mystery Wines™ are simply wines we love, with the branding hidden and revealed only when it arrives at your door!

"Sweetly ripe and inviting, the bouquet shows ripe cherry, plum, olive, nutmeg, and floral nuances, followed by a silky palate that's juicy and rounded with finely infused tannins. Delightfully composed and expressed, making it immediately appealing. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Aromas of dark cherry, berry fruits and smoke. Flavours of red fruit compote and mocha. Juicy and fleshy in the mouth with soft tannins and persistent flavour. Easy to drink on its own, or to match with food.

Fruit is sourced from 6 different sites all in the Wairau Valley. Soil types range from dense clay to ex- riverbed free draining gravels across the Lower and central Wairau sub regions. Picking commenced on the 16th of March through to the 30th of March. Various clones were used such as 115, Abel, 667,777,10/5 and 943 each providing subtle characters to the final blend. All vineyards are trained using a 2-cordon/cane VSP trellis system

Food Pairing: Casual charcuterie is perfect, moving through to red meats such as lamb and wild game like venison and duck. Can also work well with smoked salmon.
