Lifted aromas of tropical passionfruit combine with herbaceous characters of green capsicum and blackcurrant leaf. Intense flavours of ripe passionfruit and gooseberry with a green herbaceous thread and a salty mineral note on the lingering finish.
Fruit was sourced from a selection of premium vineyards located in the prestigious Dillons Point sub-region of Marlborough’s lower Wairau Valley. These vineyards are planted on floodplains, rich in nutrients, producing wines with heightened expression.
The fruit was harvested in the cool of the evening at optimum flavour maturity and physiological ripeness. Grapes were transported to the winery quickly and pressed off immediately to minimise skin contact and juice deterioration following harvesting. After cold settling the juice from each batch was fermented at cool temperatures to retain fruit flavour and freshness using selected yeast strains. Selected as this Mystery Wine due to its power and intensity of flavour as well as its fullness and balance.
