Notte Rossa Salento IGP Primitivo 2019 (Italy)
- Cherry & violets
- Vanilla
- Rosemary
- Lively acidity
"Deep, ruby-red with a black hue with little transparency, lighter on edge. The nose is vibrant and full, rich aromas of prunes and cherries melded with spices and liquorice, underlined alcohol power. Medium-full bodied, succulent aromas of prunes and cherries have concentration and freshness, subtle spices linger on the finish. The palate is filled with ripe tannin grip with black tea fragrance, added texture, and lively acidity to a sleek dry finish. Match with venison and lamb over the next 3+ years. Primitivo grapes from Salento, Puglia. Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jan 2021
Deep ruby red with violet reflections in the glass and an intense aroma, fruity with notes of prunes and cherry, rosemary and vanilla. A full-bodied red wine that's soft, balanced, and easy to drink.
Grown in Salento, Puglia in an area that is about 100m above sea level, with high average temperatures and medium-low rainfall. The soil is shallow and medium textured (sandy loam). Thermo-controlled maceration and alcoholic fermentation occurred for about 10 days with selected yeasts. Aged in stainless steel tanks.
Food Pairing: Savoury first courses, red meat and game, mature cheese.
