Well balanced and elegant, the 2022 Orchard Lane Pinot Noir is a delicate combination of red berry, plum and spice aromas with lightly balanced supple tannins.
The Orchard Lane winery lies down a long quiet lane in the heart of the Marlborough wine growing region. In an area once surrounded by apple orchards only one gnarled row remains, providing fresh apples to our winemakers over harvest.
Perfectly ripe fruit from two special vineyards (one situated on a hillside in the southern valleys, the other located on a rare clay band in the Wairau valley) was hand harvested and fermented in small open top fermenters. Hand plunged 3 x per day for 10 days then drained and pressed to quality French oak barrels for maturation and 100% malolactic ferment.
