Pask Gimblett Gravels Hawke's Bay Merlot 2018
- French oak
- Ripe red fruit
- Dark berries
- Savoury notes
An immediately alluring bouquet of ripe red fruit and spicy oak. The palate is loaded with rich plum flavours combined with dark berries and classic merlot savoury characters.
A frost free Spring lead into an early dry summer. January and February were exceptionally warm, the beginning of Autumn bringing higher than average rainfall throughout March and April. Given the amount of rain, the quality of our fruit was great. A vintage which required good management, was well rewarded.
Harvested from the Gimblett road vineyard. Predominately fermented in closed stainless steel fermenters, then aged in barrel for approximatly 14 months. Regular racking occurred with blending in November 2019.
