River Delta Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020
"It's bright and delightfully fragrant, showing red cherry, ripe strawberry and mixed spice aromas on the nose, followed by a nicely rounded palate offering succulent fruit flavours and mellow mouthfeel, making it smooth and very easy to enjoy. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2020
The 2020 River Delta Pinot Noir has fresh aromas of red cherry, wild boysenberry, black cherry and subtle spice. An inviting palate of fresh Summer berries, ripe plum, and delicate spices on the finish.
This fruit was sourced from a selection of vineyards throughout Marlborough. Each vineyard's yield is managed carefully and fruit is monitored throughout the ripening season. The grapes were harvested upon reaching the desired flavour spectrum and maturity.
The grapes were harvested in the cool of the morning at optimum flavour maturity. Each vineyard parcel was held cool for five days prior to fermentation. Selected yeast strains were used for the primary alcoholic fermentation during which the must was hand plunged six to eight times daily. Once malolactic fermentation was completed the wine was carefully blended and gently prepared for bottling.
Food Pairing: Perfect to enjoy alongside spring lamb served with creamy rosemary mash. Drinking well now and will continue to impress for the next 5 years.
