Rock Ferry Rise & Shine Central Otago Pinot Noir 2020
Aromas of ripe dark morello cherries and plums with hints of cinnamon bark and wild thyme. Juicy raspberry and vibrant brambly red fruits on the palate are followed by lacey tannins and a lengthy elegant finish.
With gentle and meticulous care the fruit was hand-picked and hand-sorted befroe being destemmed into a 700L Italian Amphora, 25% whole cluster. A slow cool spontaneous ferment follows, with a hand pigéage of the cap daily. After 27 days the wine was drained and gently pressed, before being returned to amphora for further ageing. The wine was racked, settled, and bottled unfined and unfiltered in November 2021.
