Sacha Lichine La Poule Blanche 2018 (France)
With delightful green reflections in the glass this wine creates an almost pale lime hue. A fruity nose showcasing peach, grapefruit, bananas and mango leads to a well balanced palate with a wonderful delicately wooded finish.
Born in Bordeaux and educated in the U.S, Sacha Lichine began working at his family’s property, Chateau Prieuré Lichine, during the summers of his youth. The Sacha Lichine range is product of his recognition of a need for diverse and innovative wines, whilst offering affordable, approachablity to wines from the South of France. Not only does the team behind this wine range include Sacha but also Patrick Leon as consulting Oenecologist, whose experience is unparalleled in making the great wines of the world.
The best of French winemaking 'know-how' and modern winemaking technology was employed in the winery when making this wine. This included skin-contact before pressing and alcoholic fermentation at low temperature (14-15°) finished with oak ageing of 20%.
Food Pairing: Ideal with a rocket and parmesan salad or seafood linguine, served lightly chilled with a side order of Louis Jordan’s jumpin’ jive 'there ain’t nobody here but us chickens' to complete the scene!
