San Marzano Salento IGP Il Pumo Primitivo 2017 (Italy)
Deep ruby red with violet reflections in the glass. Experience intense aromas, with notes of plum and cherry, spicy, with rosemary and vanilla scents. A full-bodied wine, soft and balanced, easy to drink.
At the heart of Italy's ancient villages, from high balconies and white terraces, this wine whispers good luck to passersby. It is born of the clay that once nourished the vineyards. It is a flower as it blooms, a peach on the tree, a grape on the vine.
The grapes were harvested in the first weeks of September from San Marzano, Salento, Puglia. San Marzano is a small village in the centre of the Primitivo di Manduria DOC region, a strip of land kissed by the two seas of the Salento: the Ionian and the Adriatic. The area is about 100 meters above sea level, with high average temperatures and medium-low rainfall. The soft soil layer is clayey and quite thin, with a good presence of rocks.
Thermo-controlled maceration for about 10 days, followed by the alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts. Aged in stainless steel tanks. A wine that preserves its organoleptic characteristics for 5 years.
Food Pairing: Savoury first courses, red meat and game, mature cheese. Serve between 16-18oC
