Spring Creek Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2020 (Produced at Hunter's Wines)
- Dry style
- Gooseberry
- Citrus & pineapple
- Crisp & refreshing
"Delightfully fruited and fragrant, showing green apple, lemon/lime zest, nectarine and fresh herb aromas on the nose, followed by a vibrant palate offering bright fruit intensity backed by juicy acidity. Flavoursome and lingering with a crisp-dry finish" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2021
Gooseberry flavours complement the citrus/pineapple flavours to form this refreshing wine. The wine shows bright stone fruit characters with a palate that just lingers on to a dry finish. The wine has a zingy acidity creating a crisp wine that can be enjoyed now or over the next two years.
The 2020 growing season was one to remember for the amazing weather conditions in Marlborough. During Summer and Autumn they had warm and dry conditions throughout, allowing for clean fruit and an early start to the vintage. These conditions resulted in grapes that was picked with good natural acidity relative to their sugar and flavour ripeness. 2020 will prove to be an exceptional vintage.
The fruit was picked in the cool of the morning and processed using anaerobic techniques. The cool fruit was de-stemmed, crushed and lightly pressed. At this stage the greatest of care is taken to handle the fruit as little as possible during these processes thereby retaining maximum fruit character and aromas. The juice was clarified by cold settling, after which it was racked and then fermented for approximately 28 days in stainless steel tanks.
100% Wairau Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand.
