Stanrock Single Vineyard Awatere Valley Marlborough Albariño 2018
- Dry style
- Barrel-fermented
- Stonefruit & lime
- Zesty acidity
The wine is bright straw yellow with lemon-green hues, and has aromas of white stonefruit, limes and exotic yellow florals. It has a warm, rounded and generous palate, with concentrated flavours of white and yellow peaches, honeydew melon, vanilla, passionfruit and pineapple. Minerality, zesty acidity, and a slight oak spice lead to a full and lingering finish.
The Albarino grape variety originates from Spain's Galicia province.
The fruit was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, settled and racked – 75% in tank and 25% in barrel. The barrels went through wild fermentation and the wine in tank underwent a controlled ferment. The wine was then stabilised and crossflowed before bottling.
Food Pairing: Perfectly paired with antipasto, tasty paella and tapas with friends!
