Te Mata Estate Vineyards Hawke's Bay Pinot Noir 2019

Te Mata Estate Vineyards Hawke's Bay Pinot Noir 2019

  • Ripe red berries
  • Lavender
  • Vanilla & nutmeg
  • Silky fine tannins

Bright burgundy with a purple edge, Estate Vineyards Pinot Noir ’19 has an immediate aroma of ripe strawberry, raspberry, lavender and nutmeg. Hints of vanilla and smoke float across a palate that’s dominated by soft red fruit and silky fine tannins. A recent addition to the Te Mata family, this is a beguiling wine. Ripe and mouthfilling, Estate Vineyards Pinot Noir ’19 has oodles of gorgeous appeal while also overdelivering complexity and finesse.

Estate Vineyards Pinot Noir ’19 was harvested between 7 and 25 March 2019 from Te Mata Estate’s own vineyards in Woodthorpe Terraces.

The individual lots were each destemmed and given a traditional warm-plunged fermentation. The resulting wines underwent extended maceration on skins before pressing. The separate wines were then run to a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barriques for 11 months’ maturation.

Delicious now, Estate Vineyards Pinot Noir ’19 will continue to evolve in bottle for two to four years from harvest.
