Thornbury Hawke's Bay Merlot 2022

Thornbury Hawke's Bay Merlot 2022

This easy drinking red wine has aromas of dark berries and red fruits with subtle mocha and vanilla notes. Plush and generous, this Merlot is soft and silky smooth and ready for immediate consumption. Sourced from pedigree vineyards within Hawke's Bay which provide rich and full-bodied wines.

Our vineyards are located in the heart of Hawke's Bay premium red winegrowing sub regions. With its stony soils and sun-drenched conditions, there is simply no better place to grow Merlot in New Zealand.

The fruit was harvested, destemmed, and gently crushed to tanks. Daily cap management ensured the infusion of flavour and colour from the skins into the fermenting wine. Once dry, the wine was pressed out for a 12 month maturation with a subtle influence of oak to round out the palate. After 12 months the wine was gently fined, filtered, and prepared for bottling.

Food Pairing: BBQ meats or roast lamb.
