Thornbury Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024
"It's brightly expressed on the nose, showing green rockmelon, crunchy apple, lemon zest, and herbaceous aromas, leading to a flavoursome palate that's succulent and lingering. Upfront and highly enjoyable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2024
"There’s no mistaking the freshness, youthfulness and pungent scents of the wine. Tropical fruits and pink grapefruit, fresh basil and lemon-flower, a fine layer of elderflower and mandarin skin. Crisp and just dry with a tickle of residual sweetness. Balanced, well made and ready to drink from day of purchase through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Aug 2024
A classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, packed with vibrant tropical fruits, citrus, and complexing herbal notes. The palate is crisp, mouth-filling and delicious with a satisfying persistence of flavour.
Blessed with abundant sunshine and free draining soil, the Marlborough wine region is world-renowned. Thornbury's vineyards are located in the Awatere and Wairau Valley's, producing Sauvignon Blanc that is vibrant and fresh.
Predominantly grown in the Awatere valley, this subregion provides the juicy blackcurrant and herbal flavours with a salty minerality while the grapes from the Wairau Valley provides richness and weight along with flamboyant tropical aromatics.
Fermented cool in stainless steel tanks using select aromatic yeast strains. The wine spent time on its yeast lees to build extra texture and weight to palate.
Food Pairing: As an aperitif or with fresh seafood, such as Marlborough Green-lipped mussels or Pacific Oysters.
