Twin Islands Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022
- Dry style
- Citrus
- Fresh herbs
- Zesty finish
"Fragrant, lifted, and lively on the nose with engaging aromas of red currant, yellow plum, passionfruit flower, basil and a hint of struck match corruption adding to the complexity. A lighter-bodied style that's quite youthful, tight, and restrained at present with crisp, green-apple acidity and plenty of freshness" NZ Wine Rater, Dec 2022
With a lively fragrance and crisp palate, citrus flavours and hints of fresh herbs lead to a zesty, mouth-watering finish.
The 2022 growing season got off to a good start with favourable conditions in the first three months setting up a good crop. The Sauvignon harvest is best described as short, sharp, and very busy as we worked our way through the blocks in just fourteen days. A very busy vintage has quickly turned into a very busy period and with wines are already looking delicious. Vintage 2022 was logistically quite challenging, for a number of reasons, which makes it all the more satisfying when the wines come together nicely at the end of it all.
Food Pairing: Ideal on its own or with seafood, Asian flavours and anything fresh, zingy or bold, this is a very food-friendly wine.
