Whalebone Bay Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020

Whalebone Bay Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020

  • French oak
  • Boysenberry
  • Cinnamon
  • Balanced acidity

"Gentle and soothing, this friendly pinot shows red cherry, clove, mushroom and floral aromas on the nose, followed by a supple palate that's juicy and silky. Immediately approachable and easy to enjoy. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2022

Fruit driven in style with delicious boysenberry, dark cherry and a hint of cinnamon. Finely balanced acidity leads to delicious round full palate with a warm powdered spice finish. Drinking beautifully from the outset, this wine will mature into a fuller, more complex wine that can be enjoyed over the next five years.

Fruit for this wine was sourced from some specifically chosen vineyards from Marlborough’s wine region. A portion of the wine was aged in a mixture of new and older seasoned French oak and the rest in stainless steel tanks.

Food Pairing: Well matched with pan seared scotch fillet and fresh asparagus.
