Wishbone Hawke's Bay Syrah 2020

  • French oak
  • Dark plum & cherry
  • Mint & vanilla

"A wine of purity and elegance, showing red plum, olive, almond and subtle spice nuances, it’s finely flowing on the palate with supple texture and fine-grained tannins. Well rounded and juicy, making it tasty and fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2023

This delicious Hawkes Bay Syrah displays aromas of dark plum, black cherry with hints of mint and vanilla. The palate is rich and layered with flavours of ripe blueberries and subtle black pepper. An elegant structure, powdered tannin and a long complex toasty finish. Can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring will mature over the next 5 years from vintage date.

The fruit was held cold for four days prior to ferment to help extract maximum flavour and to enhance colour. It was then racked off to a mixture of stainless steel and French Oak. It was then gently extracted, blended and prepared for bottling.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with pan seared venison with blueberries, shallots and red wine.
