The whimsical brainchild of Beatrix Ham, Beatrix sparkling Rosé is a personal passion project using grapes selected from the family estate.
Harvested from Merlot vines grown in a single densely planted block of Alpha Domus estate vineyard. This block was stablished in 1993 and is uniquely suited to producing excellent, lightly coloured Rosé wines.
Merlot grapes were harvested early at optimal ripeness for sparkling wine. Only free run and light press juice was used, ensuring a perfect balance of freshness and weight.
From its origins in 1989, establishing both vineyard and winery, Alpha Domus was a pioneer in the renowned Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District of Hawke’s Bay. New Zealand family owned, they have always been inspired to create beautiful wines of worth; the importance of quality and expert craftsmanship paramount. Alpha is derived from the first initials of the founding family members names in age descending order, Anthonius, Leonarda, Paulus, Henrikus and Anthony, Domus is Latin for home.
