Coopers Creek Kumeu Pinot Gris 2020
- Dry style
- Peach & pear
- Subtle spice
- Supple mouthfeel
"It's attractively fruited and nicely fragrant showing yellow peach, pear, floral and subtle spice aromas, followed by a juicy palate offering supple mouthfeel and smooth texture. Fruity and friendly for delightful drinking" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2022
"Already drinking well, this pale orange wine is mouthfilling, with very good depth of stonefruit and spice flavours, a hint of ginger and a moderately firm, dry finish" Michael Cooper, Mar 2021
Pale gold, with onion skins tints. Delicate aromas of spice and floral notes intermingle with mineral tones. Sweet fruit adds texture and richness, rounding out this lovely balanced wine. Delicious drunk young and fresh, but will gain further depth and complexity over the medium-term .
Quite simply, the best fruit we have ever picked off the vineyard at the winery! One of the three blocks is now approaching 20 years old, and the age of these vines, along with the great weather during the growing period, has given us fruit with the ripeness, depth of flavor, and chemical structure to reward immediate drinking or medium-term cellaring. Tank fermentation and a period of lees contact have produced a wine that has Pinot Gris’ wonderful transparency, accompanied by glorious weight and texture.
Food Pairing: This wine will be suitable with fish, white meats and salads.
