Delas Vin de Pays d'Oc Viognier 2020 (France)
- Dry style
- Apricot
- Preserved citrus
- Smooth & fresh
An intense, bright colour with a golden hue. On the nose this wine is very typical of its variety - notes of apricots, peaches, exotic fruits and preserved citrus. The palate is both smooth and fresh, finishing on hints of dried fruits.
This wine has been made from grapes grown on the slopes of the Pont du Gard, on limestone-clay soils formed in the Villafranchian stage.
The grapes were harvested at night in order to take advantage of the cooler temperatures. After being destemmed, the grapes are transferred to tank for low-temperature maceration with skin contact. Once pressed and sediment has been settled, alcoholic fermentation is carried out by selected yeast inocculations. In order to keep the wine fresh and balanced, this wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation. The wine is held in stainless steel tanks until bottling, which tales place after light fining and filtration.
Food Pairing: Cold cuts, steamed fish with lemon & butter sauce, asparagus, artichoke.
