Dicey Late Harvest Bannockburn Central Otago Pinot Gris 2021 (375ml)
"Lush, concentrated dessert Pinot Gris with poached pear, apricot, honey, anise and spice flavours. A smooth-textured wine in a moderately sweet style (65 g/l) with a seasoning of subtle spice characters. Great as an aperitif" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Dec 2021

Displays aromas of melon, peach and pear on the nose. The palate is succulent, viscous and rich. Drink within 3-15 years upon realse.
An unsettled spring meant a slow start to growing. After warmer temps mid-November the inclement weather, including some snowfall, continued into flowering. The vines set with small berries on compact bunches. A good of rain fell in January then dried out and heated up. Windstorms visited over Easter. The crop was picked at optimal ripeness. Overall, the season was warmer than normal with lower yields.
The fruit was left to hang until flavours really started to pop in the vineyard. Foot stomped and left overnight before being whole bunch pressed direct to fermentor, warmed and inoculated for fermentation. Fermented cool then stabilised and filtered but not fined. Bottled in August 21.
