Dune Bonaire McLaren Vale Rosé 2020 (Australia)

Dune Bonaire McLaren Vale Rosé 2020 (Australia)

  • Dry style
  • Red cherry
  • Orange blossom
  • Subtle oak

The style is bone dry but full of texture, red cherry, sweet herbs and orange blossom .

A cool spring with windy conditions led to a delay in bud-burst, but the season then saw record temperatures in late December. This was followed by a mild January/February. Yields were below average in shiraz and cabernet but healthy crops on most other varieties. 2020 whites are showing delicacy in their aromatics, with fresh natural acidity. The 2020 reds are displaying bright red-fruited fragrance with great intensity on the palate. The resulting wines have an even tannin structure giving depth and longevity with an elegance of fruit.

The Bonaire Rosé is made from Carignan, Sangiovese and Shiraz that we pick and press together. Approximately half is fermented in seasoned oak, ambient temp, wild ferment on full solids. The other portion is fermented in steel on light lees and at a cooler temp. Postferment the two portions are blended back together and mature in seasoned oak on light lees for 6 months prior to bottling.
