Edwin Fox Reserve Marlborough Pinot Gris 2022
- Dry style
- Nashi pear
- Citrus hints
- Fresh finish
"Pristine and delightfully styled, showing Asian pear, apricot, crunchy apple and citrus peel nuances on the nose. The palate delivers gentle weight and rounded mouthfeel, well supported by fine texture and refreshing acidity. Varietally expressive and comfortingly appealing. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2022
A delicious Pinot Gris with lifted aromas of fragrant ripe peach and Nashi pear and honeysuckle blossom. Beautifully rounded flavours of cut green pear, nectarine and a hint of citrus leads to a lovely fresh dry finish that lingers. At its best over the next three to four years.
The Edwin Fox is a Historical East Indiaman style ship built in Bengal in 1853. She is the 9th oldest ship afloat in the world today and the last surviving wooden immigrant ship to New Zealand. She now resides on the Picton foreshore at the gateway to the picturesque Marlborough Sounds.
Food Pairing: Well matched with grilled chicken skewers with bell peppers and cherry tomatoes.
